Let's go over all the reasons why I LOVE Pinterest! You can pin anything!! If you like something, pin it, and you can go back later and view the website where it was originally pinned. For example, you can see a great picture of a meal that looks awesome, but you don't have time to look at the recipe right now. You can pin it, and later when you need a good meal to cook, you can look back at your pin board and click on the pin and go to the website that has the recipe for that AWESOME meal!! There are so many different categories in Pinterest: food, health, clothing, wedding, travel, and so many more!! I could really spend all day talking about Pinterest, but I don't want to bore anyone!! One thing I don't like about Pinterest is that some of the pins lead to dead links, and sometimes you have to filter your way through spam. For example, you can see a pin of a before and after picture of a woman, and the caption usually says something like "the best weight-loss method out there" and you click on it, and it goes to some random video that doesn't tell how anyone lost weight!
Pinterest could be used by educators for a variety of things. Teachers could make students go on Pinterest and look up project ideas, and students can work together in groups to come up with a project from a basic rubric given to students by the teacher. This can give students a little bit of freedom in choosing a project that might have been boring to them, but they can make it fun and creative in their own way!
Basically, Pinterest is awesome! I may be biased just because I have used it and will continue to use it. But it was one of the first tools I saw, so I found it appropriate to blog about it for this assignment! :)
I absolutely love Pinterest also and it has become my newest addiction. It offers endless possibilities and ideas for anything one could ever think of. I am currently using it for ideas for my son's 1st birthday party.
ReplyDeleteI have the same addiction! I believe we need to have a Pinners Anonymous group in college. I have recently started a board for teaching ideas. I had never thought to look at Pinterest for school ideas until I started using it for my finances. This is such a great tool, and it is always getting new, refreshing things added to it!
ReplyDeleteI never really started using Pinterest until a couple of weeks ago. I have found that I love using it now. I have recently been using it to Plan My friends baby shower and although I alter most of the stuff I find to fit my needs I have been so thankful for all the ideas I have gotten from it.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Pinterest! I pin pretty much every night before bed! It is really a bad habit. But I find a lot of DIY ideas, and of course education stuff!
ReplyDeleteThese days who doesn't love Pinterest. I used it for my son's first Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday theme party. I got some really cute ideas from there. It's amazing how many different crafts and ideas you can get on there about anything and everything. I believe that when I am in the classroom I will be able to use ideas from there for students to get hands on experiences. What's really is that you can post and repost things for other people to see. I love that things are constantly updating with new ideas.
ReplyDeletePinners Anonymous is a great idea!!! I spend way too much free time on there, when I should be doing more productive things... Like what I pin! After I pin everything possible, then I'll start on my Pinterest projects ;)
