In my last blog post, I wrote about my blogging experience, or lack thereof, and wrote a little bit of why I chose my specific avatar. I just registered my blog, so now I will be able to receive credit for completing each task in my blog!
As an educator, I could use a blog for my students, just like we are doing in this class. Students could blog about specific assignments, or maybe I could have them do a blog on extracurricular activities, to encourage students to be involved. I could also use blogging as a way of discussion outside the classroom. If students have a question on an assignment, they could respond to a blogpost and other students looking at the blog would be able to help, or I would as their teacher.
Blogging could potentially be a great way for students to keep an online journal of a certain class, or maybe even their overall school experience. I would have to keep in mind the students that do not have computer access at home. Maybe we could, as a class, use class time to go to a computer lab. I could have those students keep a handwritten journal, and then they could transfer it to their blog during class time. I think blogging could be a great way to incorporate technology into learning. As long as the tools are available for students, blogging could be a fun way of doing assignments or even keeping a journal for fun!
