In my last blog post, I wrote about commenting on other blogs. The importance of commenting on other blogs is critical because it gives authors of blogs much needed feedback. In this blog post, I will discuss Web 2.0 and School 2.0.
Honestly, the whole idea of html coding confuses me!! I do, however, remember coding things on MySpace, back when it was popular! haha. But I usually asked a friend to help me, or watched videos on YouTube to discover how to do new things! To me, Web 2.0 is basically social media and tools to make life easier while using the internet. School 2.0 is how educators, parents, and students will use Web 2.0 to further education. Teachers can use technology for so many things: homework, grades, lesson materials, etc. This can mean a lot of things for schools in the future. I know since I have been in school, technology has changed so much! I heard the other day from a parent where I work (which is at a school age center) that the teacher assigns homework on the internet. The student just has to take the book home as a reference to help with homework assignments. Grades and progress reports are also being posted on a school website. Parents can go in and look and behavior that is tracked, homework assignments, and test grades. I remember having to take home everything and get it signed, but now parents can view everything online. I only wonder how much technology will advance by the time I become a teacher!
The Internet can be a complicated thing. But from the articles I just read, and the videos I just viewed, technology is there to help us. Things don't have to be as complicated as they once were. Technology is growing a lot. I just hope I can keep up!
